As General Sales Manager, you'll play a pivotal leadership role within the dealership, overseeing Sales and Finance operations while developing future leaders and driving profitability. As General Sales Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the dealership's variable operations while ensuring an exceptional experience for customers and employees alike.
Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Sales Managers, Finance Managers, Sales Associates, and future leaders.
Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain top-performing talent.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance culture built on accountability and continuous improvement.
Conduct annual goal-setting meetings and semi-annual performance reviews using Go Auto's employee development process.
Ensure all team members receive ongoing training and development through Go Auto University and manufacturer programs.
Partner with the General Manager to develop and execute dealership sales strategies.
Drive performance across vehicle sales, gross profit, F&I penetration, appointments, and customer satisfaction metrics.
Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance results and implement action plans to achieve dealership objectives.
Desk deals in accordance with dealership guidelines and profitability goals.
Conduct daily Save-A-Deal meetings to support deal progression and maximize opportunities.
Review sales and F&I performance reports regularly to identify coaching and development opportunities.
Assist in developing programs that improve sales effectiveness, front-end gross, and finance performance.
Oversee inventory management for both new and pre-owned vehicles.
Monitor inventory aging, reconditioning timelines, wholesale activities, and inventory mix.
Conduct daily lot walks to ensure proper presentation, vehicle placement, and inventory readiness.
Ensure accurate trade valuations and efficient reconditioning processes.
Review customer leads and CRM activities to ensure complete and accurate documentation.
Monitor deal structures and sales processes to ensure consistency with dealership standards.
Maintain sales floor coverage and team scheduling to support customer demand.
Champion an exceptional customer experience at every stage of the ownership journey.
Drive CSI and NPS results that exceed manufacturer and regional benchmarks.
Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
Ensure follow-up processes are executed consistently to build lasting customer relationships.
Create a dealership culture where customers feel valued, respected, and excited to do business with us.
Ensure compliance with dealership policies, manufacturer requirements, and applicable regulations.
Protect the legal and financial interests of the dealership.
Maintain the highest ethical, moral, and professional standards.
Ensure all customer interactions, deal files, and CRM records meet company expectations.
Support the General Manager in maintaining operational excellence across the dealership.

Previous automotive dealership leadership experience is required.
Current experience as a General Sales Manager or high-performing Sales Manager is strongly preferred.
Proven ability to drive sales performance, profitability, and team development.
Strong understanding of sales processes, inventory management, desking, and finance operations.
Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with CRM systems and dealership management tools.
