Body Shop Technician
Primary Duties

- Maintain the utmost legal, moral and ethical standards with all customers and coworkers
- Attendance at Go University and/or manufacture training as requested by management
Responsibilities
- Understand and follow repair order requirements
- Check parts for correctness before starting repair and notify supervisor of any discrepancies
- Perform frame and unibody structural repairs, body sheet metal work, plastic repairs, component replacement and alignment
- Repair restraint systems such as air bags and seat belts
- Remove and install bolt on components such as hoods, deck lids, fenders, trim, doors, glass and interior components
- Repair damage to body panels and replace sheet metal
- Verify dimensional accuracy and system functions using precise measuring systems and manufacture specifications
- Verify passenger protection is properly installed
- Test drive vehicles to ensure proper alignment, suspension, handling and component functions
- Use frame machines to straighten bent frames and unitized bodies
- Remove badly damaged sections of vehicles and weld or attach new sections
- Repair damage to body panels and components made of a variety of materials
- Repair or replace interior and exterior components such as instrument panels, seat frame assemblies, carpets and floorboard installation, trim panels and moldings
- Complete repairs in a quality manner according to factory specifications
- Upgrade job information through manufacture publications
- Place RO’s details into CDK or Management System
- Keep record of repair details and complete necessary paperwork
- Park all vehicles in assigned areas
- Always keep shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all shop-owned tools
- Understand and follow federal, provincial, and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes
- Dealership and customer vehicles are never to be used to run personal errands
- Accurately track and document work performed
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
